We’ve all been told that the sun emits ultraviolet light that damages our skin, but did you know that there are 3 types of UV light?

  • UV-A light (longest wavelength 320-400 nm) accounts for 95% of the UV radiation that reaches reaches the Earth’s surface.
  • UV-B light (280-320 nm) causes sunburn and reddening of the skin.
  • UV-C light (100-280 nm) is the most damaging type of UV radiation and is mostly absorbed by the ozone layer.
